Vincent Capdevila

The Bonhomme artist

“I love colour and I love words. My bonhommes speak for me, out of shyness, and probably a little out of madness.”

The bonhomme

He speaks for me

Vincent has been drawing since childhood. He grew up watching his grandfather, a mosaic artist, make colours, materials and shapes talk to each other.

From those repeated gestures a character was born: a faceless little man — the “bonhomme” — with hair inspired by the Eye of Horus. Out of shyness, Vincent never writes on his canvases himself. The bonhomme does.
